BAL Holdings, Inc., a member of the Grupo BAL Companies was formed in 1992. As part of a group restructuring, BAL Holdings, Inc. acquired Peñoles Metals & Chemicals, Inc. from another Grupo BAL company.
BAL Holdings, Inc.’s stockholders include Industrias Peñoles, S.A. de C.V. (Grupo BAL’s mining and chemicals group) and El Palacio de Hierro (Grupo BAL's Department store group) BAL Holding’s, main operating subsidiaries are described below:
Peñoles Metals & Chemicals, Inc. was formed in 1974. Its principal operations consist of marketing zinc, lead, minor metals and chemicals. Peñoles Metals & Chemicals, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of Industrias Peñoles S.A. de C.V. metal and chemical products in the United States and Canada.
Wideco (US) Inc., formed in 1982, offers sourcing solutions and buying office services to companies in the mining industry who purchase machinery, equipment, and supplies.
BAL International, Inc. formed in 1993 markets Peñoles brand silver and gold.
BAL Metals International, Inc. formed in 1995 engages in copper 
and other base metal trading worldwide.
